Mining laws under attack here in Montana

There are some in the legislature that do not believe that the right to mine has a place in our world of resources.  Bills are being introduced to stop open cut mining, by permitting them out of existence.  We are also seeing a push from the federal level on planning where we see the original mining laws are protected, but at the same time the planning documents prohibit actions in the name of wildlife or the environment.  Again, our ability to explore and extract minerals to benefit this country will be further hampered by bureaucratic actions to save the world from the people.

Resources here in Montana are continually being locked up in the planning of public lands.  Mining exploration that is guaranteed by congressional law has been violated in many cases and stretched to the limit in others.  With your help, we can insure that the minerals that are here for the benefit of the people of the United States can and will be available in the future.

1872 Mining act has been regarded as the only law created that the environmental movement has not been able to undercut. We need your help at Montana legislature.  Visit, Write, Call, send smoke signal, or some way of contacting your legislator on laws that are now being past. We need to be aware of each attack on this Congressional Act.  Mining is the backbone of Montana's beginning.  It is the mineral resources that brought people to Montana and to this day the precious metals that are still here are actively sought after.  Environmental organizations continue to stifle this industry.  Montana Multiple Use Association is always ready to stand in the way of the illegitimate obstruction of mineral exploration.
